Valentines Day Candy Sayings

Guys, what would prefer as a Valentine's day gift?
I'm torn between classic chocolates and "Bittersweets," joke candy hearts for "most of us" on Valentine's Day that have sayings about being dumped, dejected or dysfunctional. The actual sayings on them aren't *that* funny, but I think the idea is clever. They still come in a nice metal box. What would you guys prefer?
FYI He has a sense of humor, so I'm not worried about that... I just don't know if I should go w/ fun or romantic. 
I haven't been dating him that long (3 months), so I'm leaning toward the latter, but the hearts are pretty special...
