Valentine Day Wedding Decorations

When deciding on the details for your Hawaiian wedding, the most important part of the process is deciding where to have your ceremony. After that, you’re free to find ways to make your event unique. From the addition of local customs to interesting décor, there are many ways to add a unique beauty to your wedding.
A wonderful way to make your day even more special is to adopt some local customs. Hawaiian traditions include arriving at a beach wedding in an outrigger canoe and having the ceremony inside a circle of flowers. While leis have become somewhat expected on the islands, they are actually an important part of Hawaiian weddings and a wonderful way to greet your guests. Having part of your vows exchanged in Hawaiian is another lovely touch.
Consider using local flowers for your wedding. Hawaii is filled with gorgeous blossoms and while flowers of all kinds are flown in to the islands, the local flowers have a grace and beauty that fits well with weddings on the island. Consider adding ferns and feathers to your flower arrangements to add a special feel or use some of the many tropical fruits in your arrangements.
A luau is one of the traditions that a Hawaiian wedding almost has to have. Starting with a traditional roasted pig is a memorable way to begin your reception dinner and the abundant fruits of the island make incredible desserts. One of the wonderful things about a luau is that there is always enough to eat for everyone.
While it’s usually traditional to have your reception indoors consider a party on the beach. Encourage everyone to change and provide snorkeling equipment. Set up a volleyball net and rent a glass bottom boat for the afternoon. When night comes, light a bonfire and let your guests dance the night away.
Include local hand made crafts as part of your wedding décor. Decorated gourds, hand carved Tikis, and clay pots are all lovely choices for your guests’ tables. Beautiful woven baskets and bowls as well as carved shells are also lovely options.
Your wedding is your time to shine. Consider the many options available for your wedding details and see if any of the local traditions or supplies can add a sense of unique beauty to your special day.
What do you think of this for a Winter wedding theme?
I heard that alot of brides who want a winter wedding can get discounts on alot of snowy decorations, because stores are moving everything out by January for spring stuff and Valentine's day stuff.
I'm thinking about having the theme in whites, crystals, and pale blues. Pale blue accents everywhere... kind of mixing with the cold, ice theme.
Another winter wedding bride!
I love winter, that's why I'm having a winter wedding. I'm having a romantic Christmas wedding with a deep red, pure white, and slightly silver color scheme. We're having it in the Poconos Mountains to assure snow.
Originally, I chose white, light blue, and silver as my color scheme, but I changed my mind because it was really important to me to have roses. And white roses yellow to fast to have them at a wedding, so I went with the traditional red. However, I've still got a lot of ideas from when I was thinking about doing that. So I'll share. First of all, I was going to have a snowflake theme (I still am, too). I found a really great line called "Winter Wonderland" that is white, light blue, and sliver. It comes with snowflake accents on everything- ring pillow, guest book, unity candle, garter, everything! And the line is super cheap and super beautiful. Google it, because it'll really work with any specific theme you choose within winter. Also, glass and crystal are amazing. Use flower-filled glass vases as centerpieces. They reflect the light and look like ice. Use crystal dinner to continue with the ice-like look. This looks ten times better if you have candlelight at your wedding and wedding reception. Also, for the centerpieces you can buy instant ice crystals super cheap. They come in little bags and one tablespoon makes about a gallon of instant ice. Just put it in with your centerpiece flowers and it'll fill the vase with these gel-like crystals that look exactly like ice. It's beautiful! Also, you can set up some Christmas trees. They're really cheap before and after Christmas, like 50 dollars for a 5' tree. Get some, and get some ornaments in white, light blue, and silver. Then put out some decorating items so your guests can decorate ornaments and place them on the trees. It's much more interesting and a conversation piece than a guest book (although I'm going to do both), and you can cherish those throughout the years. Think of what kind of food you want to serve, too. A winter-y feast would hit just the right spot with guests, with hot cider, hot chocolate, baked ham, sweet potatoes, or whatever is traditional winter food in your family. They sell a lot of decorative items you can use, like fake dusting of snow, scattered ice crystals, and snowflake confetti. It's all super cheap. Look online because you can buy in bulk at any time of year, not just after Christmas when everything's somewhat picked over. However, you can find some good deals and some good ideas after Christmas. Think about having an ice sculpture, or miniature ones. They only run about 300 dollars each. Also, google ice sculpture molds online, because I've seen miniature ice sculpture molds that you simply fill up with water and then let it freeze until you open in later to reveal the ice sculpture. Those would make super cheap and super cute centerpieces... just don't forget an ice sculpture tray underneath because your ice-like wedding may become a wet one. There are so, so, so many more ideas I have to offer. If you want some more help or more ideas, just let me know! I'm totally willing to help, because winter wedding brides are seriously the best.
