When engaged couples used to consider wedding reception sites, their options were quite a bit more limited than they are these days. From windswept mountain tops to ancient pyramids, locales abound for receptions and celebrations. Narrowing down the possible locations is advisable by including key words in your search like “beach wedding” or “classic church” so that you’re not inundated by results to the point of being overwhelmed.
Another big change in wedding planning and choices is the improvement in communication technology. In the past, if you wanted to have a wedding in an exotic locale, you needed to communicate with possible venues by land line during their business hours or fax them if you wanted to reach them faster than regular mail. With the advent of email and cell phones, reaching a waterfront hotel in the Yucatan to discuss menu options is a snap. For many locations, there are helpful tourist bureaus that provide regular email updates that detail local events so that you’re always in the know about when is the best time for your own special day.
Lastly, the ability of wedding coordinators and planners to provide amenities no matter how remote the location is part and parcel of modern weddings. I am making a valentine's day picnic for my wife. Any menu ideas?
It will need to fit in a large basket or cooler. We will be going to a park so i guess i could bring some sterno, otherwise no heat/flames available
Go to your local deli or specialty grocery & fix a nice selection of finger foods such as french bread, cheese, smoked meat, veggies, fruit & of course a nice bottle of wine or champagne......Chocolate is a must for dessert!!
