Valentine Day Package 2008
Posted on Thursday, January 3rd, 2008 at 6:45 am
Something of the year was a strange moment, exciting and frightening for many companies. In business, the 2000s experienced the largest high and lower minimums. The last ten years have been scandals (Madoff, Enron), booms and busts (dotcoms, evolution housing) technology, a global recession and many important lessons that should guide us in the 2010's.
In the next decade at its end, see things that society has changed in the 2000s.
Think again and try to remember what it was searching the Internet before Google. Yes, I can hardly remember. Only Google has revolutionized the way they interact with the Internet and the tactics we use to achieve our business are on the web. In 2000, Google is a search-engine with a loyal following, in 2006, the word Google has included both the Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary and the Oxford English dictionary. In fact, I had to Google Google has just written that.
BlackBerry
In 1999, the first BlackBerry was introduced as two way pager. In 2002, the first BlackBerry was released and led a number biz-friendly applications and business has not been the same since.
For better or worse than many of us who are committed to our work, literally, in the hip. Where once he had be for a computer to do all related work, we can make any number of tasks right on your phone. The BlackBerry has been a boon to insurance companies, perhaps not so much now for those of us addicted to our "BlackBerry".
Social Communication Media
One of the main themes of the decade was the need for gratification immediate, it is even more pronounced then the explosion of social media applications.
Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn, Wordpress, etc. Do you or your company is in you and it is more likely in all these platforms of social media have changed the way we interact with your friends your family and especially for companies ... consumers.
Boom, Bustos, and rescues
First came the dot-com. In 1995, purchases of the dot-com era all the rage in 2001 increased from dot-com to dot-bomb "that the bottom has fallen into the dot-market com and investors discovered the fragility of many of these bases business reality.
There was the housing bubble has burst. In the first half of the decade, housing prices were at their peak with the value of properties across the country, in some places Leaping over 80%.
Not last long as the bubble began to burst in 2006 and 2008, the Case-Shiller prices posted their biggest drop in prices in history, the launch of the crisis of subprime mortgages.
The stock market was no stranger to wild boom / Changes recession in the 2000s either.
In 2007, the Dow Jones industrial average climbed to record levels. On April 27, 2007, the Dow Jones closed above 13,000 for the first time in history and has continued to grow upward.
On October 9, 2007, the Dow Jones hit a record high of 14,164.53. However, as was apparently the rest of this decade, when something which was a record that has not to establish a record low.
And that's exactly what happened September 29, 2008. When the rumor on Wall Street that the House had rejected the rescue plan for 700 million dollars from the government, the Dow Jones fell 778 points, its biggest drop in a single day in history.
Speaking of bailouts the government in 2000 saw its share of the understanding. It began with Act 700 billion Emergency Economic Stabilization to help ensure that the U.S. banking system would not fail. While U.S. institutions like Lehman Brothers were not authorized institutions to consider the big to fail, like AIG, was supported by the rescue plan.
Then there are industry U.S. car needs a bailout. Although Ford is not the money to save Chrysler and GM have made billions of dollars of taxpayer the long-term bankruptcy anyway. Thus, the government promised billions more to keep the companies afloat.
How does all this change? Well, we showed that the practices of doubtful loans and living beyond our means ... is simply wrong.
The great recession
Without doubt, nothing had a greater impact on business and many of our lives while the economic slowdown.
From United States in December 2007 and presented by some to last until 2011, the recession "Great" has had and will have a profound impact on how we conduct business.
Although the true origin of the recession are in no doubt debate the result of a confluence of events such as irresponsible lending practices, lending rates, a sharp increase in oil prices and food, the bursting of the housing bubble and the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
Consequently, many companies have been forced to lay off thousands of employees and the unemployment rate in the United States was 4.9% in December 2007 to 10.9% in October 2009.
Although there are signs that the recession reduces the real challenge for companies is not when the crisis will end, but how can we prevent it from recurring.
