St. Patrick's Day is a religious feast festival of Catholic Christians has its roots in Ireland with the conclusion of importance in other countries especially the United States and Great Britain. As Valentine's Day, St. Patrick (17 March) commemorates the death of the revered saint St. Patrick condescension Irish. So what is the legend behind St. Patrick which led to the association of a festival in his name and how it is celebrated day?
The story goes like this ...
Originally (in the back half of the fourth century), parents in Scotland or England Feelings Roman Romana (mixing at the place of birth), formerly known as Maewyn Succat. He gave the name of Patrick Romanicized him to be called Patrick.
Patrick was originally pagan (non-believer of Christianity). During his childhood he has been kidnapped and sold into slavery to the Druids who were then in Ireland. It was during this life stage as their attitudes and beliefs towards God began change. After six years, escaped from slavery, when I dreamed of God, giving instructions for that. He received the priesthood in France. When he became bishop, returned to the dream of Irish people, and what they call their need for services.
Then he returned to Ireland with the firm conviction of the conversion of pagans to Christians. Despite being arrested for the moment Celtic Druids of several he has always managed to escape and was not deterred. Fires baptized and preached Christianity. Even using diplomacy as gifts for people in wrens and gifts to legislators. For 20 years, traveled throughout Ireland, founded monasteries throughout the country. He also created schools and churches to help in his conversion.
How come one day meeting Patrick?
As part of the celebration, many Irish carry a lot of clubs in their lapels or caps on St. Patrick's, while children are of lights (green, white and orange) badges. Traditionally, girls wore green ribbons in her hair (much more).
Three Leaf Clover Shamrock has been used by St. Patrick to represent the Trinity as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is also regarded as the Irish shamrock lucky. The Shamrock was used by the Irish as a sign of nationalism, when the British invaded the Celtics. Thus, a shamrock is a lot of respect Ireland. Leprechuans or people of Irish fairies are also associated with the feast of St. Patrick. In Irish mythology, a leprechaun is a type of Elf said to inhabit the island of Ireland.
In recent years, celebrations of St. Patrick in Dublin, have been extended a week called St Patrick's Festival, encompassing a spectacular fireworks display Skyfest), music, air, street theater and the parade traditional. More than one million people attended the celebration in 2004.
St. Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide by Irish and Irish descent. A major parade takes place in Dublin and in most other Irish towns and villages. The three largest parades of recent years took place in Dublin, New York and Birmingham, England. Parades were also held in other centers, London, Paris, Rome, Moscow, Beijing Hong Kong, Singapore and the Americas.
In the United States, St. Patrick would not be St. Patrick's Day unless the Chicago River dyed green. Furthermore, St. Patrick's Day has little religious or historical significance. Founded in Boston in 1737, is essentially a time to put in a "Kiss Me I'm Irish" button, and a parade of drunkenness in the streets singing a distorted version of "Danny Boy" in honor of his Irish ancestors real or imaginary.
So, in summary, one can see that turning around the legends of St. Patrick were inseparably combined with the facts. The day invariably evokes the "I'm Irish" condescending feelings alongwith St. Patrick for his services to Ireland. And together they helped us learn a lot about Santo and the spirit of celebrating the day.
