Valentine Day Crafts For Children

Posted on Monday, February 16th, 2009 at 4:16 am

Are you, like many parents, looking for positive ways to spend time with the kids during the holiday season? Did you know that you can use Christmas quotes to make your quality time with the kids even more meaningful than ever before? If you use quotes to create crafts this holiday, you and your kids can have loads of meaningful fun!

Encourage your children to search for quotes online, in books, and in movies. Your kids will love the challenge of finding meaningful, friendly, heartfelt quotes, and they will learn something in the process. You can talk about the quotes and expressions your kids find and you can explore the real and various meanings of the expressions together. Encourage your children to make a long list of as many quotes as they can find; you can even make a contest out of it. Use a small gift as incentive like candy, or a special movie viewing or offer something to your kids you know they will appreciate.

Artwork, Gifts & Craftwork:

Once your children have created their list of Christmas quotes, challenge the kids again by asking them to come up with unique and innovative ways to use the quotes. Give them some ideas like using the quotes in artwork or in gifts that they make. Have a craft session and sit down with the kids. Offer them a variety of materials to work with like scissors, glue, glitter, glitter glue, crayons, colored pencils, charcoal, markers, stencils, felt, clay, colored noodles, and different colors of construction paper and poster board. Watch as your kid's imagination takes over!

You can also work on crafts to make holiday decorations to put up around your home: all with different expressions and Christmas quotes! Kids can make quote collages with a mixture of holiday related images and their favorite expressions or sayings. They can make greeting cards or they can design gift boxes with special sayings on them that can be used to give gifts away this holiday season.

Why not create your own game based on Christmas quotes? You can search for expressions and the authors of sayings, and challenge your kids to a game of "Who Said?" where the children attempt to tell you who the author of the quotes you have chosen. Alternatively, you can reiterate and expression and ask your kids what the quote really means; this will allow you to see how your child's subjective mind perceives every quote that he or she finds!

there is many many ways to say it the two most popular ways are feliz dia de san valentin, and the other dia de las corazones (day of the hearts, as it is often referred to in Mexico)
