What is the origin of Valentine's Day?
Why do we celebrate Valentine's Day? It was made for business cards Wish to increase sales? Nope. The origins may be much greater than you imagine. Before, when Rome was formed as a regulation, made a festival called Lupercalia. In honor of the god, Lupercus, they believed protected wolves. The night before the festival, all the girls just put their names on a vase. Each man has a name and would be partners in all games and dances.
Over time, Rome became a walled city protected and not much affected by the wolves, but the people loved the party too much to quit. When they became Christians, they still wanted an excuse to go on vacation. A Christian priest named Valentine was first performed by the Roman Emperor Claudius II on February 14, 279 AD. Therefore, it became the day the party and the new reason to celebrate this day.
There were several priests named Valentine, and the story is confusing in that the day is actually the name of. A Valentine's story that he made illegal marriage ceremonies when the Emperor passed a law prohibiting young to marry. Claudio wanted their mind in the army and conquer more land.
Another story suggests that the St. Valentine was imprisoned for preaching Christianity. The emperor heard of his qualities and is willing to forgive if Valentine's Day became the pagan religion. Therefore, the party is Valentine not a commercial manufacturing as some claim. The 14th is now simple Awareness Day (SAD) also, and many are anti-Valentine's Day. I do not understand why, when it is not only a day for romance. Even if you happen to be single, beautiful that Some people treasure. Make the day of the family and friends who you absolutely are happy in your life. should be accepted as a day of love and friendship as the ancient Romans of old.
